Life May Be PSALMwhat Unfair, BUT God isn’t!!!
Is life unfair? Well Psalms 37 gives us a basic answer: the success of the wicked will not last, while the long run people who do right will flourish. Psalms 37 is somewhat an encouragement for us to continue to trust in the Lord that He will be the one who will bring you through the storms, through the seasons. For it says in v3-4, ‘Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.’
It goes on to say in v5-6, ‘Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Trust in the Lord and He will indeed prosper you, however the blessings can only come if you be still before Him and wait patiently for Him. Do what is right in the Lord’s eyes in all the things you do and you can be certain that the Lord will uphold you with His hand. For the Lord loves the just and does not forsake his faithful ones.
I was encouraged by what the psalmist said in v25-26. Throughout the psalmist life, of troubles and anxieties, he has yet to see the righteous abandoned by God and unable to provide the needs of their children. In fact, they are generous and they lend freely and because of their act of generosity, their children will be blessed.
Life may be unfair at times, BUT God isn’t. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. I hope you will make this your prayer today.
